The CHO hosts Healing Awareness Week South West event

15th May 2022

As part of this busy week of all things healing (2nd to 8th May), The Confederation of Healing Organisations hosted a special event on 7th May to welcome healers and anyone with an interest who'd like to find out more.

The venue was the very tranquil Open Pathway Retreat Centre in Queen Camel, near Yeovil, in what turned out to be a very sunny Somerset. Open Pathways is a member of The CHO and we're extremely grateful for the loan of their beautiful retreat centre as a venue for this open house event.

The day kicked off with a talk and experiential workshop from CHO Chief Executive, Sue Knight, on the subject of healing energy. The audience had a chance to try different exercises, including physically feeling energy, much to the surprise and delight of some audience members who hadn't experienced this before. This was followed by a practical session on meditation by Open Pathway's Daniel Francis Casley; such an apt subject as the retreat centre has a beautiful meditation chapel for anyone wanting to continue their practise. CHO Chair Jane Butterworth shared her wealth of crystal knowledge in a talk about the qualities of different crystals and how they can be used for everyday health and wellbeing and the very lovely Max the Border Terrier joined Daniel Francis for the final talk of the day, which covered animal healing.

Healing taster sessions for humans and animals were available throughout the day, together with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss experiences.

It was wonderful to welcome a mix of visitors, some familiar with healing and some less so, some old friends and some new.

We'd like to thank everyone who came along, all those who made delicious cakes, our speakers and volunteers and the team at Open Pathways for their much valued support.
