Dame Vera Lynn’s Daughter Designs Poppy Brooch

5th November 2021

Virginia Lewis-Jones, who we are proud to have as a *BRCP registrant, has designed a special poppy brooch in time for Remembrance Day. The brooch is part of the Bluebird jewellery collection designed to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Royal British Legion.

Virginia's jewellery design paid tribute to her mother Dame Vera Lynn, who became the "Forces’ Sweetheart" during the Second World War when her songs and performances raised spirits and shaped the nation's mood.

When designing the collection, Virginia says she was inspired by family, friendship, her mother’s love of pearls and the white cliffs of Dover.

She also worked closely with the Royal British Legion on the poppy design. They say that the crystal heart in the centre symbolises family, friendships and reunion.

The brooch is available from the Royal British Legion Poppy Shop https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/collections/poppy-pins-brooches

All of the profits go towards supporting the Armed Forces community and if you sign up with Give As You Live prior to purchase you will be able to donate up to 4% of your purchase to The Confederation of Healing Organisations at no extra cost to you.
