Practitioner Day 2020

6th April 2020

Back in March, before the introduction of restrictions in gatherings and travel, we held our first joint continuing professional and personal development (CPD) event with both CHO and British Register of Complementary Practitioners (BRCP) members attending.

The Practitioner Day was designed as the first of what we hope will be many opportunities to delve into subjects relating to practice, take away practical ideas or concepts to implement and a chance to network with fellow practitioners.

We were delighted to welcome healing and complementary therapy practitioners for an informative day that included:

  •     understanding and maintaining professional boundaries
  •     professionalism, risk management and business issues
  •     reflective and restorative practice workshop.

The presentations and workshop were well received and generated much discussion, with all delegates agreeing that the information shared was directly relevant to them and they would be likely to use it in their practice going forward.

Those attending have since let us know that they found the practical tools and techniques, guidance on record keeping, self-care and practical energy exercises and how to recognise when boundaries are crossed, to be particularly beneficial.

We had some informative feedback about what other areas of professional practice would be useful subject matter for further events too. So thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a day of sharing information and experiences. We hope to be able to bring you news of further CPD opportunities soon.
